Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I work with children, adolescents, and adults who are seeking therapy for a variety of reasons. I specialize in treating those who have experienced trauma. I consider my therapeutic style to be collaborative and authentic - I work with my clients to create a safe and nurturing space where they can work through complicated feelings, challenge unhelpful ideas, and feel empowered to make positive changes in their lives. In addition to my advanced training in treating people with severe and complex trauma, I also have experience with working with those experiencing loss and grief. Additionally, I have a lot of knowledge and experience with adoption and foster care, and can provide support to adoptees, adoptive parents, and birth parents who are struggling with the complex feelings and grief associated with adoption. Despite my background being heavily focused in trauma treatment, my treatment approach is also beneficial for general life concerns, such as family or relationship difficulties, stress, or anxiety. My primary treatment approach with older adolescent and adult clients is eclectic, drawing on components from cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), humanistic therapy, and psychodynamic treatment. With children and younger adolescents, my preferred telehealth modality is Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which I have completed the national certification program for. I also have training in play therapy, which is challenging to translate into virtual practice, but is present in my therapeutic style. Given the intimate nature of therapy, it's understandable to want to find a provider with knowledge and experience that relates to your needs and goals, and to find someone who you have a comfortable rapport with.
